Happy Holidays for the two or three people who actually come here lol. You should invite people you know to stop by. Word of mouth tends to be the best way to advertise.

I know very few people who would want to come here, but i will try.
anyway, have fun celebrating your various holidays. (even though Jesus wasn't actually "BORN" on december 25th, he was born in a cave, and, as much as they hate to admit it, they based Christmas off of a pagan holiday(on a seperate note: they based Easter off of a pagan goddess "Eoster"))

Actually recently I had to explain to someone how the whole idea of gift giving could have arrived from a holiday merely ment to be a mass for the Christ. I explained to them that the christians in the spreading of their faith looked at the pagan holidays of the Celts, Vikings and all the similar pagan groups of the day and merely borrowed their holidays to make conversion easier. The holiday borrowed to make Christmas was known and the Yule. It is celebrated every year on the 25. Why the 25? Because from the 22-23, which is the normal time for the solstice the sun reaches it's lowest noon time point. On the 25th it begins, once again it's accent into the sky at noon. It is a celebration of the coming of spring and an indicator that the days will be getting longer again. It is a time of rebirth if you will thus making it an ideal time to celebrate the birth of Christ. Actually if you want interesting information about Christ's birth and Childhood compare him to Horus the Egyptian God.

I made this joke the other day:
How could the virgin Mary get pregnant without knowing it?
one night of really heavy drinking and one hell of a hangover.

While we're on the subject of religious people that resemble other religious people.... Does anyone get the feeling that Santa Claus is made to resemble a god? He watches you all the time (omniscient) to see if you've been bad or good. He checks his list twice (the final judgment) then either rewards you with presents (cause that's probably what a little kid's idea of paradise is) or punishes you by giving you coal (anyone else see the reference to fire?). Maybe I just think about these things too much, lol. O yeah, as a final act of comparing Santa to religious figures, his name is an anagram for Satan.

Well if they aren't wouldn't the great monotheistic religion be a lie? God is the god of good and evil and heaven, where as Satan is the god of evil and hell and probably most of the earth as well.

I think they generally pass that off as Satan being some sort of fallen angel, but that further raises the question of what an angel is. They're not gods, apparently, they seem to be some sort of race created solely for the purpose of doing god's laundry and occasionally smiting someone with a flaming sword. God is said to have given human's free will, and refuses to waver on that even if it means saving plenty of Christian lives, but apparently he took that away from the angels after one of them led a revolt, the hypocrite.

Well, the way I've heard it, people "become" angels when they die (or at least this is the dolled up Sunday school version for the children). It makes sense, in that the church says that humans are "god's servants", not entirely unlike angels. This may or may not be the common belief, but it does bring up an interesting point. If Satan is a fallen angel, he once was an angel. if he was an angel, then he must have once been human. Imagine that, this embodiment of all that is evil and un-pure was once human. But, something that worked for God couldn't be evil. SynodBot 9000 says "Does not compute!" (for those who do not know, Synod is a church council)
