Numerous studies have stated that we do not have free will and that we are merely the results of our genetic programing. However when presented with this option researchers have found we are more likely to step up and attempt to break free of this genetic programming. This article explores the topic more thoroughly. Source: www.sciam.com/article.cfm?id=free-will-vs-programmed-brainSo what is your opinion on the subject? Do we have free will and exercise it freely or are we just a pre-programed machine?

seeing as, in my opinion, every decision is directly related to every other decision and a single decision, even as small as choosing which grape in the bunch to eat first, i do not think that we are "preprogrammed".
although certain genetic conditions can lead to specific decisions, like if a person has cystic fibrosis, they may choose to go for a slow walk rather than a quick jog.

I wouldnt class that last bit as programming, thats more a limitation, rather than a programmed in characteristic. I dont think we're programmed, or there wouldnt be people who think outside the box and discover, or build, we'd all act too similarly. I do think we are conditioned by the environment to fit into society though. But thats another subject...not a genetic thing.

Well as one with OCD, I can see the theory of "programming" human mind. I have a tendancy to do things in a specific way, and am very nit-picky about perfection. Normlly I have a nack to color-coordinate my posessions, or arrange certain objects to form a pattern. I have a mind of my own, but those kinds of things I can't seem to control.

OCD can be a form of conditioning For example, my cousin if forever washing her hands. But she picked it up from her mother, who is OCD when it comem to cleanliness, cleans everyday, vaccums everyday, and...yeah, forever washing her hands.

I'm not sure OCD could be called a form of conditioning. I have it, and my traits seem to have little or nothing to do with things I've picked up. I don't believe that we have been pre-programmed, but things like that may be nature's attempt.

OCD is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. As taken from the NIMH website: Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, OCD, is an anxiety disorder and is characterized by recurrent, unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and/or repetitive behaviors (compulsions). Repetitive behaviors such as handwashing, counting, checking, or cleaning are often performed with the hope of preventing obsessive thoughts or making them go away. Performing these so-called "rituals," however, provides only temporary relief, and not performing them markedly increases anxiety. What does FREE WILL have to do with us being genetically programmed lab rats??.........CAN WE MAKE DECISIONS ON OUR OWN WHENEVER WE SO DESIRE? the answer to that is YES, YES WE CAN, However DO WE? NO, NO WE DO NOT... If we did, the world would be a much better place and we would not DEPEND on the DARK KABAL to Rule and make decisions FOR THE WORLD........We have the power to harness FREE ENERGY, build our homes, power them, provide food, YES, we can if we actually DECIDED to.....But the LEADERS have successfully created a lazy and docile society due to chemical dumbing down of the world...SO keep in mind..AT anytime...WE all can MANIFEST our thoughts no matter how FAR REACHING it seems
